  2. Rob has changed me, Not only my view on sharks and the ocean overall but my total life. The way I see a lot of things has changed so much I doubt I would be who I am without him. His movies were the key for my decision to study. Its not Biology but its political science and science of education. I’m interestet in the environment and the policits that influence it. And I want to educate people. Rob has shown me that everybody can change things and that is what I want to do.
I look forward to get a Mako Shark tattooed with Robs Name on it. And later this year I am going to have dive lessons because I want to go diving with sharks in 2018. This will be my tribute to the legend, the inspiration, the worldchanger Rob Stewart.

  3. My name is Lucas, I am from Austria and Rob Stewart was and still is one of my inspirations and idols in life. At the time my grandparents dove, the oceans seemed like a limitless source of resources and beauty. Much happened since then. And the problem was and still is education. I am currently studying engineering and biology, and Rob Stewart (even though I never met him in person) was and still is one of my heroes and inspirations. Not only did he educate people about our world and the problems we have (which is in my opinion one of the most important tasks in our society), but he also showed us what a single person can achieve, as long as one is passionate about his goals. He changed the world, had a big impact on society, touched our hearts, and most importantly he had a true and honest love for nature. Which is why I am going to end my comment with one of my favorite poems from Goethe: “Geheimnisvoll am lichten Tag, lässt sich die Natur Ihres Schleiers nicht berauben. Und was Sie deinem Geiste nicht offenbaren mag, das zwingst du Ihr nicht ab mit Hebeln und mit Schrauben.” („Nature is mysterious on the brightest day, and will not lift her vail. And what she does not reveal your heart, cannot be forced of her by technology.”)
Thank you Rob for your work. I hope you had the brightest time under the sun.

  4. Rob is such an inspiration and incredible human being, so sad that he is gone. He will be greatly missed but will continue to inspire us to carry on his passion for conserving the ocean and it’s wildlife. RIP Rob!!

  5. Rob has been an idol, role model and inspiration to me. I have always loved sharks and advocated for them and when I first watched his film I feel in love with his passion and motivation to save the planet. He has motivated me as an individual to keep fighting for them and to never give up. He was a true inspiration and I felt a deep loss from loosing him. He impacted so many lives across the globe and I know that even now in loving memory he will continue to do so.

  9. The world has lost yet another REAL superhero. In a time where we are constantly bombarded by fictitious hero’s. Losing a real, honest to God one, makes it all that more painful. Thank you Rob for opening our eye’s and heart’s to the despicable and reprehensible treatment of sharks the world over. You may of had a short life but, you left behind a BIG message and a legacy that we hope will be heard by all.

  10. I am just a diver…. Of course, I love nature, wildlife and do my best to respect environment. But because of Rob, because he is gone, I decided to join sea shepherd to try to honour his memory… It is not much but it will be my way to keep him alive. Ingrid from France

  12. So saddened to hear that this amazing researcher, film maker, fellow scuba diver and ocean humanitarian was lost to the sea. RIP Rob Stewart and may your good work shed light on the value of every living creature of the sea and bring those who may fear sharks to the realization that they are an important part of this water covered planet that we live on. May your family and friends find peace in knowing you were doing what you loved until the day when you will all meet again.
