About the Dwarf Spotted Wobbegong

The Dwarf Spotted Wobbegong is a species of carpet sharks member of the family Orectolobidae, found off south-western Australia.

This species reaches a maximum size of 88.5 cm TL in males and 94.3 cm TL in females. Little is known about the biology of this species, but it is thought to be viviparous based on the reproductive mode of other Wobbegong.

This species is demersal found on the continental shelf at depths of 9-135 m. The Dwarf Spotted Wobbegong is endemic to southwest Australia from Shark Bay to Mandurah.

All sharks and rays are commercially protected under Western Australian law.
