The Sickle-fin houndshark is a rare species of houndshark, found only in western Australia, at depths between 110 and 200m.
They’re ovoviviparous but the average litter size is unknown. They are 20-25cm at birth and reach maturity between 65 and 70cm. The maximum total length for this species is at least 80cm.
The Sickle-fin houndshark is at risk of being caught by trawling fisheries but as much of their natural range is permanently closed to trawling, they’re conservation status is currently “Least Concern”.
