  1. Many years ago I watched Shark Water and was moved to start educating divers about the importance of sharks while teaching diving courses. Rob you will always be a true and honest hero of mine and many generations to come. You will be missed and honored by all the people you inspired We all need to get out there to take action and spread the message. We have a long way to go and I believe that unless more action and pressure is put upon the industries and governments that allow this to keep on going then all may be lost the time is growing short and the stakes are higher than ever rally your friends and families to make a difference with their dollars boycott what you know to be wrong and fund the the fighters willing to make the difference. We CAN do this and we WILL succeed from one ocean lover to you all I am willing to do everything it takes because the alternative is bleeker than any of you can imagine. Fight fire with water. You’ll never be forgotten Rob Stewart.

  3. I just finished watching sharkwater extinction. I cried I don’t know how many times. As a future shark biologist, a current conservationists and a huge fan, I thank Rob for giving his life to the sharks. I know he’s resting well, we need more men like him out there and I know that his message will change the world.

  4. Awesome movie: “sharkwater 2, extinction”. It is always painful to see the parting of human beings who fight for life and the preservation of our planet, with so much done and still to be done. It is now necessary to multiplicate his example and add efforts to this same will. Thank you Rob.

  5. just now I was watching shark water extinction on discovery’s shark week and only over this past week I have noticed how important sharks are to our ecosysteme and that if they are removed from that chain it’s going to change everything. we need to fight for the sharks we need to help them live on to keep there story’s alive and to make people understand that sharks aren’t just predators they are a living thing just like us and that they understand us more than we think and there is still so much we don’t know about them and if all of shark kind disapears that we will never know what is most important about them. it is also very very important that we end shark fishing or at least make a certain point during the year when you can fish them and that you can only catch a certain number of a type of shark and others that you are not aloud to catch. Another idea would be to have people start like a shark police where they go through ports and check the shark fishing boats to make sure that they only catch the certain amount of sharks that they are aloud and they go over that certain number they get fined depending on how many more they catch then there supposed to. Now lets just make sure that we protect the shark species and that the memory of Rob Stewart lives on for the rest of time.

  6. I watched sharkwater first and have the dvd and the book with it. I think I learned about finning from the sharkweek on discovery and then learned more about it from Rob Stewart. I may never have met him, but if it wasn’t for him no one would’ve known about what was happening to one of my favorite things on earth and that’s the shark, I do wonder why he never went near great whites or bull or tiger.

I thank him for giving me and the rest of us something to fight for and I wonder what I can do besides give money, because I want to keep my favorites safe.
You are greatly missed by me someone who has never met you personally and that saddens me.

  8. Dear Sir/Madam,

I’m sorry to hear about Rob’s death.

I just found a trailer of the Sharkwater Extinction documentary and I was wondering if you have a sales agent excluding the United States. The monies generated from these sales could help the Rob Stewart Fund.

If interested, please contact me on [email protected] We have a special genre of environmental documentaries on

  10. Hello there, my name is Paula and I’m a 16 year old high school student in Toronto. Ever since I was just a small young girl, I was always fascinated by the marine wildlife. Not even my parents or teachers could censor me from finding out what was happening to marine life around the world and in captivity. I absolutely hate what is happening to sharks all over the world, and the fact that I was born in Trinidad (who in which likes a lot of dark fin soup by the way) disgusts me a bit because they simply just cut off their fins because they were “hungry” or because they were “in need of” it. Imagine having your arms and legs cut off and left to die. That’s what hundreds of people do worldwide to sharks (an other marine animals). I was wondering if we could somehow partner up and open up a chapter of “Sharkwater” here in Toronto and , if possible, at my high school. I know for a fact that a lot of people here truly believe that sharks are majestic creatures that not only have been living in this planet for a long time, they also would live longer than humans if we haven’t massacred billions of their family and species over the centuries. I truly care about sharks and marine life, and I was wandering if anyone could reply to this message to realize my lifelong dream: to make and actually change in the world in the one place that could possibly save us all. I was also wondering if it would be okay to do a special project on this subject, with myself and others (high school students, younger kids, and even adults) as pioneers. Thank you, and hope y’all take this into consideration.

  11. I just had the opportunity to watch Sharkwater Extinction. I didn’t know anything about what it would be liked going into it and I just have to say you made an awesome eye opening film. I have always had such a fascination with sharks, even though they have always scared me, I didn’t let that keep me out of the water because I knew that they weren’t these man eating monsters society calls them. I almost call them the pitbull of the sea. They just have a bad rep and are forgotten about. Thank you for being their voice, thank you for showing the true scenes behind the curtain and thank you for being awareness and visual to this very real problem. Your message and your passion will carry on.
